A consultation is the time a healthcare provider takes with you. It includes:

  • Listening carefully to your problem
  • Assessing symptoms and medical history
  • Examining you where needed
  • Making a diagnosis (or working diagnosis)
  • Offering a treatment plan (and safety-net advice)
  • Planning follow-up or referrals if needed

Limited medication: Where indicated, limited medication may be provided during the consultation (subject to clinical judgement and stock).
